This review is for the yamaha m 40i also purchased this amplifier in the mid 80s and it has been going strong sincei have the amp hooked up to the yamaha c 40 preamp bo turntable and a set of dcm time frame 500s hooked to a canton passive subwoofer 1990s subwoofer. Forgot about them until i googled the picture for this thread. The 1 hour preconditioning of the yamaha m 50 at an output of 40 watts into 8 ohms followed by five minutes of full power resulted in a rather hot top cover above the transistor heat sinks. Anybody expecting a high quality guitar for a price this low is kidding themselves.
