Are Winter Tires Worth It Reddit

It evens out anyway in cost since you arent driving your winter tires in summer and vice versa.
Are winter tires worth it reddit. Ive owned two subaru wrx stis and ran them with both all season tires and snow tires as well as a 2006 civic si on snow tires. Maxed winter tires add 150 grip to the rally car so more than double grip when equipped. Not everyone uses snow tires here but since it adds hardly any cost i figured it was worth it. Tests and videos are one thing but ive done it here and id absolutely get them for your subaru.
But compromise means you have the average of both summer and winter performance. I put really top quality snow tires on my awd and brake tested the car before and after having them mounted and i went from like 6 feet of skidding to literally about 6 inches. The tires are 6 years old not worth much. If youre not certain that they came with the car theyre probably knock offs.
The wheels look very similar to bbs ch r wheels but not quiiiiiiite the same if you look closely at how the spokes meet the rim. For some vehicles its very useful because not all vehicles have the same basic grip eg. Winter tires are an investment and a decent pair wont be super cheap. Its a bit costlier up front but in the long run it will save you money and will extend the life of your tires.
Without rims the tires need to be stripped off stretched back over and rebalanced. Youre better off buying 2 sets of tires so you can have the best of both worlds. Click the tires description and you will see both grips. Rally car has pretty low 120 grip when its max level while supercar has 200.
It is worth it to get 4 rims on them as well.
